  • Dual electric motors produce 272kW/700Nm
  • Priced from $145,000 before on-road costs

The 2023 Genesis Electrified G80 is due in Australian showrooms next month, as one of the three electric cars from the Hyundai-owned luxury brand to launch locally this year.

Genesis has announced the Electrified G80 will be exclusively offered to Australian customers in a single model grade – equipped with a Luxury Package as standard – priced from $145,000 plus on-road costs.

The Electrified G80 is based on the Genesis G80 sedan but with a pair of electric motors providing power, rather than the choice of four and six-cylinder engines found in its petrol-driven sibling.

Each of the Genesis Electrified G80’s electric motors produce 136kW and 350Nm, for combined outputs of 272kW and 700Nm – resulting in a claimed zero to 100km/h time of 4.9 seconds.

Power is supplied by an 87.2kWh battery, delivering a claimed driving range of 520km on Europe’s WLTP test cycle.

The Genesis Electrified G80’s 800-volt electrical system enables DC fast charging at up to 350kW, allowing the battery to be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in less than 25 minutes.

Exclusive equipment on the electric Genesis G80 above the petrol-powered variants includes a unique set of 19-inch wheels, an Electrified-specific grille, front and bumper, a solar roof plus a bio-processed quilted nappa leather.

A full list of the features on offer is included at the bottom of this story.
